Everything is always changing, the sand constantly moving under our feet & any appearance of permanence is generally illusion.
We find ourselves in an overpopulated world with too few sustainable, renewable resources & as a result something is always being built, upgraded or repaired. Infrastructure tries to keep up by being in a constant state of construction & all this noise & disruption makes it hard to settle & focus on the now.

Steam rushes & swirls though the water remains still.
I feel like I’m packed yet unsure if I’m going.
Throwing colours at the wall until a pleasing picture takes shape.
Pillars start to spring, nurtured & nudged into place.

All appears in a state of building, rapid change engaged & ensuing.
Construction of me, construction for them, revise & refresh.
Generate tomorrow prepare for sparse rest.

Reputation craft & career, friends & networks linking together.
Stockpile significant gear, assembling empire the labor of years.
Growing for tomorrow but will tomorrow have room to breathe?
Seems the world is under construction, regeneration making it hard to just be.

A building site next door & roadworks ongoing.
Noise is accepted, & all are subjected..

Society the dictator long since got it wrong.
