I wrote this piece as a tribute to be played at my Nan's funeral.
When my Grandad passed 8 months ahead of her, my brother & I recorded a video tribute of a piece I called "Eleven" because of the significance & irony of this reoccurring number which continues to show up for our family in interesting & strange ways.
I have not released a studio version of Eleven but the live video can be seen at the YT link in the sidebar.
I composed Pillars as a sort of follow on/spin off from Eleven, it is in the same key & works its way towards the main chordal motif which underpinned the creation of Eleven.
