about

Experimentally written, & this was the first performance I did of this song.
Captured in low fi quality with a basic camera for assessment purposes in 012.

I decided to take the challenge of manipulating/mixing the audio file from the performance into something usable so I could have a rough, raw & live track to include in my discography.
I separated the audio from the video, did some tone shaping & made some characterizing changes including adding background vocals, & distortion for emphasizing grit & aggression.
This remains the only recording I have of this track as I wanted to keep it as is, sticking to the authenticity of it being the first performance rather than recording a studio version.

I think the low fi intensity gives it a really neat flare & point of difference, it breaks up the album quite well too I think.

lyrics

Sit until there is no urge to stand, take a step back & study your hand.
Go & enjoy the liquid sun coz it’s caused by you & everyone.
The stagnant clock smells of memory’s & rules about the way things ought to be.
But break the rhythm breath the light, remembering that a painting is blind.

Wired in cliché, we’re all lost in what they say.
Wired in cliché, breathe through your sleeve, try to keep the poison at bay.

The art is falling off the walls, platitudes are force-fed & now we’re board.
Unless you look you’ll never see the detail of the veins on the old brown leaves.
You are what you see feel & hear so be sure you’re exposed to what you dare.
Clichés are particles in thick exhaust smoke so fumble for the vents,
Don’t choke.

Wired in cliché, we’re all lost in what they say.
Wired in cliché, breathe through your sleeve, try to keep the poison at bay.
