Alex & I met at an open mic night in Rotorua, we got along well & decided early February that we should jam in the comfort & freedom of our own space.

As an indulgent writer & guitarist it was a pleasure for me to have the opportunity to perform & record instrumental musings of my own compositions with the skilfully improvised, creative accompaniment of Alex.

Alex is a musician & traveler from the USA experiencing & exploring NZ as he attempts to create an understanding/dialogue for his philosophy about "The value of truth" & efficient/effective information... www.thevalueoftruth.net
Alex is an accomplished & knowledgeable alto saxophone player with finely tuned improvisation skills.

The 5 performances on this EP were all captured only once in their first takes.
This was a casual rig setup in the large airy garage at my home.

I used an Audio-Technica 20/20 to capture the sax as well as the overall room sound.
I also used an entry level Rbbon mic up close to my guitar amplifier which provided me some isolation abilities in the mix.
